Pulmonary emphsema:-
A chronic disease of the lungs.Distension of alveoli causes intervening walls to broken down and bullae to form on the lungs surface. It also cause distension of the bronchiols and eventual loss of elasticity so that inspired air cannot be expired making breathing difficult.
Surgical emphysema:-
The presence of air or any other gas in the subcutaneous tissues introduced through a wounds and evidenced by crepitation on pressure.
